چکیده

Honey bees (Apis mellifera) are one of the most important pollinating species flowering plants. Recently, populations honey have been declining due to a combination factors, including widespread use agricultural pesticides. Laboratory studies were conducted determine acute oral toxicity different formulated pesticides bee adults. In particular, we assessed two neonicotinoids (acetamiprid, Assail 30SG and thiamethoxam, Actara 25WDG) other systemic insecticide products (sulfoxaflor, Closer 2SC flupyradifurone, Sivanto 200SL), all which generally used in pest management programs commercial apple orchards Eastern United States. fed range doses each pesticide order create response curve, LC50, LC90, LD50 values determined. The formulation containing flupyradifurone as active ingredient was found be least toxic followed by formulations sulfoxaflor acetamiprid. obtained this study differ from testing only technical compounds, suggesting need evaluate while conducting ecotoxicological risk assessment.

Heterosis in the Honey Bee (Apis Mellifera L.).

HERE are three castes in the honey bee colony: the drone, queen, and worker. T The latter two are both females. The drone bee is a male, representing a haploid gamete of the queen bee heading his hive. The honey bee colony is composed of two generations of bees. The queen bee is, in effect, a potent egg-laying machine, while the workers are morphologically and functionally fitted for honey and ...

Oxidative Enzyme Systems of the Honey Bee, Apis Mellifera L

1. Oxidative dissimilation has been studied in enzymes from the honey bee. Using mitochondria isolated from the thoraces, complete oxidation of most of the TCA cycle members has been shown. 2. The presence of the acetate-activating enzyme, citrate-condensing enzyme, isocitric dehydrogenase, alpha-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase, glucose-6-phosphate, and 6-phosphogluconic dehydrogenase has been demo...

Selenium Toxicity to Honey Bee (Apis mellifera L.) Pollinators: Effects on Behaviors and Survival

We know very little about how soil-borne pollutants such as selenium (Se) can impact pollinators, even though Se has contaminated soils and plants in areas where insect pollination can be critical to the functioning of both agricultural and natural ecosystems. Se can be biotransferred throughout the food web, but few studies have examined its effects on the insects that feed on Se-accumulating ...

Effects of some insecticides on longevity of the foragers honey bee worker of local honey bee race Apis mellifera jemenatica.

INTRODUCTION Honeybees are constantly exposed to a wide range of vital and non-vital pressures that may interact with each other and affect the health or survival of the insects. Pesticides are the main danger for the insects, and they subsequently have impacts on human and environmental health. METHODS Field research was conducted in the apiary of Hada Al Sham Research Station, where the wor...

Organophosphorus insecticides in honey, pollen and bees (Apis mellifera L.) and their potential hazard to bee colonies in Egypt.

There is no clear single factor to date that explains colony loss in bees, but one factor proposed is the wide-spread application of agrochemicals. Concentrations of 14 organophosphorous insecticides (OPs) in honey bees (Apis mellifera) and hive matrices (honey and pollen) were measured to assess their hazard to honey bees. Samples were collected during spring and summer of 2013, from 5 provinc...
